Captain Jamie Metson lost the toss and the opposition put Felsted into bat under leaden skies. The Bedford pace attack proved to be a formidable proposition on a grassy wicket and once a promising partnership between Angus Muir and Ronan Willis was broken, the middle order collapsed quickly; resulting in a disappointing total of 43 all out. However, it is greatly to the team’s credit that they then made Bedford fight every inch of the way in their chase. Captain Jamie Metson marshalled his troops ably and Joe Lodge bamboozled the opposition batsmen with his accurate, looping left arm spinners to return excellent figures of 5-2-6-2. With Ronan Willis also bowling a testing spell of away swing from the Garnetts End and accurate bowling from Beau Carter and Seb Stoner, the opposition batsmen were starved of run making opportunities. It is testament to the accuracy and discipline of the Felsted bowlers that it took Bedford 20 overs to overhaul the Felsted total; and not a single wide or no ball was bowled. An improvement in the batting should therefore ensure the team victories in upcoming fixtures!
